Grand Rapids, MI – 10/24/2023 – Tend.Harvest.Cultivate. This innovative program is designed to increase participation in and access to the cannabis industry, with a particular focus on promoting equity and diversity.

The CEP’s primary goal is to work with a minimum of 10 qualifying individuals within the City of Grand Rapids, with a commitment to ensuring that a minimum of 40% of participants reside within the city. Furthermore, T.H.C. is open to reviewing applicants who may not strictly meet the definition of Equity Applicant but align with the spirit of the Cannabis Industry Social Equity Voluntary Agreement (CISEVA).

“We are thrilled to launch another year of this incredible program. As a first year graduate, I’ve seen firsthand the impact this program can have on individuals disproportionately harmed by cannabis prohibition,” said Jessica Austin, CEP Coordinator at T.H.C. “Our commitment to diversity and equity is at the core of our mission, and we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive in the cannabis industry.”

The Cannabis Entrepreneurship Program empowers community members by offering a comprehensive nine-month overview of the cannabis industry. Participants can expect professional training, ongoing technical assistance, access to workspace, and the essential materials needed to thrive as cannabis business operators or employees.

Graduates of the program not only benefit personally but also have the opportunity to become agents of change within their communities and the broader cannabis industry.

“We envision the Cannabis Entrepreneurship Program as a model for others to follow,” Jessica Austin continued. “By providing the tools for change and fostering equal opportunity, we aim to make a lasting impact on our community and the cannabis industry.”
